Introduction to Sri Yantra

This is how it looks like OM.

If you take the vibrations from the sound of OM, which is known to be the sound of all creation, Sri Yantra’s picture will resurface.

Representing the mystical structure of the cosmos, the Sri Yantra is formed by the intersection of triangles in two directions: the upwards symbolises the male principle, and the downwards symbolises the female principle.

It is said that the whole composition and individual elements of the Sri Yantra are created according to the mechanisms of human perception. This way, Sri Yantra has a great impact on the human psyche. Even a short-term gaze fixation on this image activates the left hemisphere of the brain (logical and analytical thinking) and the right hemisphere (creativity and intuition).

When we sing or repeat a mantra, we listen to its vibration, expand consciousness, and immerse ourselves in meditation. On the other hand, Yantras influence consciousness through visualization. You simply contemplate it in sacred stillness. Just look at the center and see the whole image.

All these symbols of the yantra are reflected in our consciousness and are continuously vibrating. They create order, which means chaos goes away. Our well-being improves, everything is structured, and we start to notice more and more harmony and peace in our lives.

Some say that the Sri Yantra was originally made on a convex curved surface, suggesting that the female abdomen has a similar shape. Maybe in ancient times, during matriarchy, Sri Yantra was painted on the abdomen of the head priestess. Then matriarchy ended, women were removed from power, and Sri Yantra began to be drawn on the ground, on paper, etc.

Now, if you type on Google “Sri Yantra,” you will get many of them in different colors, so which one is “The One”?

Well, there are no strict rules for Sri Yantra colors. But as per what I feel, using contrasting colors will probably be better. Try with red-green and red-blue combinations (like the example image I showed you previously).

Regular meditation with Sri Yantra helps to normalize the human biofield (aura) and helps to balance the Higher Chakras. And if that’s not enough for you, many say that the worship of Sri Yantra brings the fulfillment of any of your desires… Though here you should be careful… Karma is real, so keep in mind your intentions and goals, even if a “bad” thought appears for a slight second in your mind.

Good luck :)

PS Soon, I’ll write a post about my progress with the Sri Yantra, how I saw the Solomon’s Seal symbol in it, and all the ways this Yantra moved during my meditations.
